GERMAN AS A LOVE LANGUAGE

Stine Marie Jacobsen in her window doing research for her upcoming book 'German for Lovers'

a performative act / an installation

Stine Marie Jacobsen lives in one of the most beautiful and old courtyards on Greifswalder Strasse. For Die Balkone she used her window to communicate her ongoing engagement with the German language and on the conditions of artistic immigration that she materialized with her book German for Artists. With an A4 page imprinted with the joke “Meine Wasserskulptur ist kaputt. Das Wasser fliesst von meiner Skulptur wie mein Geld von der Bank,” on her studio windows to trigger conversation. She invited her visitors into discussions on German as a love language, making them part of her research into her next book German for Lovers.
