(in memoriam John Baldessari)

An homage to John Baldessari and his piece Throwing Three Balls in the Air to Get a Straight Line (Best of Thirty-Six Attempts) from 1973 (and of course to others like Gabriel Orozco and Maurizio Cattelan …)
(born in 1962) lives and works in Berlin. After studying German language and literature in Leipzig, Budapest, and Vienna, he has worked as a visual artist since 1990. In addition to participating in many solo and group exhibitions, he has exhibited at the Documenta in 1997 and 2017, and the 49th and 51st Venice biennales in 2001and 2005. For his work In The Woods There Is A Bird… commissioned by Documenta 14, Nicolai was awarded the Karl Sczuka Prize 2017 for works of radio art.
